(Northern Province) The Ministry of Agriculture with the financial assistance of the International Development Agency (IDA) of the World Bank is implementing the Agriculture Sector Modernization Project in line with the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) to support smallholder farmers to produce competitive and marketable commodities, improve their ability to cater to market requirements and move towards increased commercialization. The remaining period for the project implementation is up to June 2023 and the estimated cost of the project is US$ 92.23 million (World Bank loan of US$ 64.23 plus EU grant of US$ 28.0 million) Applications are invited from the citizens of Sri Lanka with the below mentioned qualifications and experience to fill the following positions of the Provincial Project Management Unit (PPMU) in Northern Province as per the Management Services Circular No.01/2019 of 05.03.2019.
- Provincial Deputy Project Director (PS2) – 01 Post
- Provincial Senior Engineer (PS3) – 01 Post
- Provincial Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (PS3) – 01 Post
- Provincial Deputy Project Director – (PS2)
- Required Qualifications
- A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Project Management,Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission
OR
An Associate Membership/ A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field
With
At least 11 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 05 year should be at the Senior Managerial Level.
- A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration
OR
equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission
And
Corporate /Chartered membership or a similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field
OR
A Postgraduate Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or equivalent field with at least 09 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 04 years should be at the Senior Managerial Level
iii. A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, Business Administration
OR
A equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission
And
Postgraduate Degree in the relevant field
And
Corporate / Chartered membership or a similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field
With
At least 07 Years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level out of which 03 years should be at the Senior Managerial Level
iv. Grade 1 Officer of the Government All Island Services or a similar status in the relevant field, with at least 04 years experience in a Grade I post.

- Required Qualifications
- A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission
OR
A qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field.
OR
An Associate Membership/ A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field
With
At least 10 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level
- A successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission
OR
A qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent qualification to the degree in the relevant field
OR
An Associate Membership/ A similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field,
And
A Postgraduate Degree in the relevant field or Corporate Chartered membership or a similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field
With
At least 08 years post qualifying experience at Managerial Level
iii. Class 1 officer of the Government All Island Services or a similar status in the relevant field
With
At least 03 years post qualifying experience in the Class 1 post
- Common to all positions
- Experience in Foreign Funded Projects is advantageous and experience in World Bank funded projects is preferred.
- Competency in Computer literacy is essential
- Candidates above 64 years of age on the closing date of application are not eligible to apply.

Salary Scale : Salary is based on the Management Services Circular No.01/2019 of 05.03.2019.
